New Cabin Door!

Nate has created a new door for their cabin--where a sheet/blanket hung before. I am really glad, although there didn't seem any way for the previous cloth to drape over the wood stove...anyway, less drafts! Now for a bear-skin rug?

Cod Pots.

Nate worked for a while on a cod boat, bringing up pots (cage-looking contraptions like those on The Deadliest Catch) full of such delectable items as cod, crab, large octopi, and wolf eels. Blasting gray gulls from the sky with shotguns (not Nate), this was a boat full of 4 Captains, and no one else...the only boat that could boast this--according to the fishermen in the Salty Dog tavern. Bailey and I walked aboard--whew--fishy hold, slick floor, low sides, finger-crushing equipment. Glad the job's over, although Nate was indoctrinated with all sorts of eye-opening stories: "Back in the old days on Kodiak, we caught so many fish we bought a camp whore...."
Etc!

An Exhibition of Our Family's Creative Interests

This blog is designed to display a wide range of projects, some of which (quite possibly) have an interesting story or two! Major 'players' include Bailey and Nate, as the Molokai Kids, and the rest of our family and some friends...and whomever else has a bit of cleverness in their system! No special time frame here....we've all used our hands and brains for years. Mostly.

Naturally, there will be fish stories...

Will post the fishies later...!

Apparently Daffers won't stay off the furniture. Bad Dog!

Apparently Daffers won't stay off the furniture. Bad Dog!
Not a 'true' invention, by the way! But now that I think about it, the Hawaii furniture was either a rolled-up sleeping bag, a cooler, or a slightly-damaged lawn chair that a couple beers improved if you didn't mind slouching sideways...!

Franken-Fish

In the spirit of Halloween, we are all looking forward to "Frankenfish", the Molokai kids' attempt at ocean taxidermy.
Pull that puppy out of the closet!

Err, I mean fish.

The Frankenfish

The Frankenfish
The infamous taxidermied fish, pulled from the depth of a dark closet; rather dark and mysterious, just like the ocean depths....
